ARCELORMITTAL LAUNCHES A TEMPESTA PILOT AT ITS FOS-SUR-MER SITE

The context: radiant heat from blast furnaces

ArcelorMittal steel operators are exposed to the radiant heat of blast furnaces, combined with heavy PPE: fire-resistant suits, thermal protections, full-face helmets. Thermal overload causes accelerated muscle fatigue and a higher risk of operational error.

A pilot launched in February 2025 at Fos-sur-Mer

Since February 2025, operators at the Fos-sur-Mer site wear the Tempesta vest for interventions near the blast furnaces. Tests proved positive within the first weeks of use.

Pilot results

−25% thermal stress among test operators and +20% alertness at high-risk workstations. Larger-scale deployment is being considered on the site.

The testimonial

"In the blast furnace environment, every degree counts. The Tempesta delivers a real thermal delta that translates directly into the execution quality of sensitive operations."
